Last week, the FDA upgraded the recall to Class II, and warned: 'Persons handling or consuming the products could become seriously ill due to adulteration from pests, including rodents, birds and insects.' A Class II recall is used in 'a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.'
