An old, old, old, USA made Swing-Away can opener. You can buy a rebuild kit with a new cutting surface for them.

The new ones are shit.

Thanks! This is the sort of thing I was seeking.

They're hard to find.

I bought one when I moved out on my own 30 years ago. Still have it, it's probably just now getting to where it could use some love. Got an even older one that was tossed out when an employer shut down, it needs a new cutting wheel but still opens cans.

I have one my ex motherinlaw gave me when I told her I only needed one plate and fork. I still get satisfaction when hearing it pop.

Wow, I have one. But there are a lot of versions. What "old old" one are you thinking of?

A can opener that can.

A can opener that can.

All can openers can. Those that can't are cannot openers. I don't think OP has any cannots he wants to open, but I could be wrong since OP is always a faggot.

Leatherman that has a can opener tool. Never failed me, used the same one for years in military.

Eaten so many cans I'll probably end up mummified when I die from all the preservatives.

We got an electric one that cuts them on the side instead of through the top. Worthless piece of crap.

Then we got an electric one that cuts them through the top like normal. Worthless piece of crap.

Now we have a metal hand cranked one with the triangle punch on the end of the handle. Best one ever.

An older steel military P38. The newer ones don't last as long.

Worst case scenario just use your hunting knife. Puncture it enough to pry it open. If it's a hearty soup you can use the knife to stab the pieces and eat them while drinking the broth.

I like Bowie knives.

P38 or P51

Not really though, but good backups.

We use a OXO can opener, it does not cut but pops the seal. It's weird at first, but works every time, and no blade to dull. The party piece is you can pop the lid back on, it'll seals quit well and keep what's left in the can fresh for a few days in the fridge.
