Digital technology is a trap. It enables tyrants all over the world to enslave us willingly. We don't need an embedded microchip, we willingly allow Alexa and Google into our homes, Apple, Samsung, Visa and Mastercard on us 24/7. Our cars spy on us too.

By going back to an analog world, we make tyranny much more difficult. Actual people need to come and find us. They can't simply coerce us remotely.

Cash: we need to stop using NFC contactless payments. Go back to using cash. Right now, every time you use some form of electronic payment system, you're giving up your privacy. Yea, Klaus says you'll like it, I understand.

Cars: go back to vintage 1970s or even 1980s vehicles. They don't send telemetry about where you are.

Ham radio: when the complex cell infrastructure goes down, we need to go back to old fashioned analog radio. No infrastructure required here.

Food: raise chickens, ducks, rabbits and cows. You don't need acres of land and you're free of the toxic poisons they infect our food with.

Godspeed.

Vehicles could be so much cheaper without all the safety and emissions BS built into them. People complain about the costs of new cars, but this factor is never brought up! That said it is nice all the safety improvements, but they should be options. Why the fuck is a backup camera required on a small hatchback? Makes no sense.

I can't even use back up cameras. Sure, I could probably get used to them, but it's just unnatural to me. The mirrors mounted to the side of every fucking vehicle haven't failed me yet.

I can understand them for large vehicles where there is a risk of backing over a kid or pet, but for a small sedan it's kind of pointless.

I don't like trying to park with them either. Mirrors have gotten me this far in life. I stick with that. Been known to open the door and look as well.

I could see them being useful for large vehicles. There's been talk about putting them on the trailers of semis. I would still only use it to make sure I didn't hit anything. I just can't use it to do the actual backing. It throws me off.

Because you have INTELLIGENCE. Like you I also don't use them and always use my side mirrors but look at the STUPID on the roads today. these aholes can't go forward successfully. Never mind backwards.

Because the majority of them aren't looking forward. Much less scanning their mirrors. They're too busy staring at Instagram or Twitter.

It's insane. I drive all day everyday. I invested in one of those Nascar pit crew Bluetooth headsets. Guess what the most unused item in my truck is?

I thought it would help but it doesn't. I realized immediately that holding the phone isn't the distraction. Trying to hold a conversation while driving is the distraction.

I can't comprehend how so many people make it home while fucking with their phone. And I don't understand what's so fucking important that you have to talk/text/post about it while you're driving.

I want a Tata Nano. It's as basic a car as you can get.

Americans should be able to buy a car like that if they wished. I personally never feel safe in that on the highway, but for city travel why not?

I used to imagine people driving Nanos, then breaking down on the highway, leaving them there and buying a new one.

Another thing that will break in a couple years. Rented a new Pacifica. It has 6 cameras all around. Almost an overheard view when going slow. Because of how they make cars the rear view mirror is almost useless as it is blocked.
