Now some cities fine residents for having chickens, or hell, a garden even.

[–] 3 pts

Oy Vey, goyim! You can't be independent. You must buy our products in our food stores!

[–] 1 pt

drink our Slurm, Brawndo, GMO, not organic real food goy

A nz council passed laws making home owners responsible for keeping road verges neat. (Land councils owned)

So homeowners dug up the verges and planted gardens

Hilarious.

it's the smells shlomo. if u were a chad magnate you wouldn't need such smells.

[–] 0 pt

A few chickens hardly smell. Now, at what number do they start smelling? I don't know, but at some point they do start to stink the place up.

[–] 0 pt

Wow really?

I literally now have about 10 basil plants because its the easiest food plant to grow, is that going to be made illegal soon?

[–] 3 pts

so many reasons to avoid living in a city. in my village everybody produces something from the garden and gives away excess to neighbours

[–] 1 pt

This works until the hories find out and strip graze the lot while contributing nothing.

This is the nz experience anyway

Hories? And is it spoken phonetically?

[–] 1 pt

Mongrel maoris and maorified white trash.

Hories is what us kiwi folk call them.

Pronounced whore reez

HAve 3 hens, have more eggs than I can eat. I give dozens way to friends.

[–] 3 pts

Have 5 hens for 2.5 people, still more eggs than I can eat.

But it time were tougher you'd eat more if you're own eggs and this would have been before the cereal lobby got government to push breakfast cereal, so people would have eaten eggs for breakfast too.

Have about 50. Hyline brown, game hens, silkies, old english, Polish, Ameraucauna. In spring, I got 1.5doz a day. Now it's anywhere from 8 to 13 eggs a day. We don't eat eggs often, so we give them to family. They can go through a 50lb bag of crumble and a 50lb bag of scratch grains in about 1.5 weeks. It's crazy how much you have to basically make a fortress out of their lot to keep out predators.

Also have peafowl, but those are mostly decoration.

[–] 1 pt

Ive heard peafowl eat ticks, and will sound an alarm if they spot any sort of predator. Seems handy. Wish i could have some but im away from home too much.

[–] 2 pts

Oh yeah I went there.

Look. A time when a government agency worked for the people.

Anyway. As a lifestyler I am now convinced that everyone with a lawn should have a lamb each year.

In nz dollars.

$25 to buy. $25 in milk. It sits eating your lawn and sheep keep lawns really neat. Golf course neat. So no mowing.

One year later it costs $50 to kill and butcher the animal. Also lambs are well within anyone's means to butcher. Unlike beef.

You will get a box of meat. About 25kg so $4 a kilo cost. Meat that costs $30 on Ave a kilo in the shops. And unlike beef its all top quality meat (OK except the flaps. Fuk the flaps).

Sheep are trainable and friendly. Easy to fence in. Quietish too. Their poop can be ignored.

It used to be governments needed a strong people to field a strong army should the need arise. Nukes have made war obsolete and countries have turned to genociding their own people as that's a less messy way of dealing with useless eaters.

[–] 0 pt

I blame Satan but each to their own

[–] 1 pt

How much land area do you need for a lamb?

Unrelated, I was recently at a county fair, and the sheep with a black face and gray wool have the most gigantic nuts I have ever seen on an animal. I mean somewhere between a baseball and a grapefruit on Ann animal that weighs 50-70 lbs.

My ram. Named Rambo.

He sees you entering the paddock with him. And he eyes you up see because he has two desires. 1. To ram the sht out of you. A single flick leaves a massive leg bruise let alone a charge ending in a bunt. 2.to present his arse so that you can scratch it to which he wags his short tail like a dog.

One day my dairy farmer neighbor entered rambos paddock and failed to choose wisely. It was hilarious.

I've had 2 sets of twins and one single lamb born that s season so far. All rambos kids. I feel so blessed.

[–] 1 pt

My son would love that. When we go to the petting zoo, he always wants to see the Rams 'fighting'

[–] 1 pt

A quarter acre home and section would IMHO provide enough lawn for two.

[–] 0 pt

Their poop can be ignored.

Um...so, when the yard is covered in sheep shit, how do they eat the grass? And what about millions of flies?

[–] 1 pt

Haven't you ever been to a junkyard where they have sheep to eat the grass? Not many piles of shit, it's in dry little balls and flies don't really want to mess with it.

[–] 1 pt

Look up 'chicken ordinance' for your city and see if you're allowed to have 'livestock'. Some cities are prejudiced against you having roosters in your backyard.

[–] 1 pt

Roosters can be loud. Do chickens crow like roosters?

[–] 3 pts

Chickens only make several loud 'caw' singing noises at egg laying time and it doesn't last very long. Neighbors have one that does the noise around noon every day and that bothers no one (so much a nothing compared to the noise of a typical gardener mowing for 5 or more minutes). I did have a chicken in the past that with age/experience learned to lay the egg faster and made little noise at that special time. A city of relative says no chickens unless they are 100ft from someone else's home or business, so that screws people out of having their own in the typical housing tract. Some cities will allow a 'pet' maybe? To get around that law.

[–] 3 pts

But chickens have such fowl language! When a chicken is just scratching around for seeds and bugs, it mutters "Fuuck, fuck fuck fuck" but when it lays an egg it goes spastic "Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck... Fuck OFF!!!"

[–] 1 pt (edited )

No. But they do have their egg laying song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17wGTlGKJJ0 They are a lot quieter than a roo. Normally if a hen makes noise, she's either laid an egg or she's startled by a predator, or upset at something.

[–] 1 pt

no, hens are mich quiter than roosters, they will sing a loud obnoxious song for a few mins after they lay their eggs tho.

[–] 1 pt

an interested child....

hmm notice how these old adds dont have niggers, i wonder if there is a connection between interest and uninterest

[–] 1 pt

5 people, 8 chickens, and more eggs than we can eat. Built a feeder that holds 100lbs of food, organics cost 60 bucks to fill.

Works like a charm, less table scraps, seems to be a win win.

Until your HOA gets wind of it, and has you arrested for 'right-wing extremism'

[–] 0 pt

dont live somewhere w/ an HOA, thats for faggots.

[–] 0 pt

Yes, but they do keep the neighborhood from turning into shit

[–] 0 pt (edited )

It’s all about the quality of neighbors you have.

HOAs Can easily ruin a neighborhood if a group of bored karens decide to take it over and start dictating petty stuff on everyone else. Plenty of horror stories like this happening.
