Mother in law does it. Results are pretty good, process is extremely labor intensive, and the upfront cost & maintenance is expensive.
Dried Apple cinnamon sticks are amazing, yogurt drops, and basically any fruit. I grow a ton of raspberries and it's great to have em dried for whenever.
If done right stuff is good for 20+ years. Lots of Mormons are into it for some reason
Yeah, the equipment cost upfront is one thing, I have more money than time. It’s the serious days on end of literally cooking a homemade meal, then spending ten times that amount of time to freeze dry it. I don’t know. I have a lot of other shit to do.
Think, make a pot roast. All day. Freeze dry it. Three days.
It’s almost like you need a team of people on a rotation to get this done.
