Waiting for mine to show up. I guess it takes 10 weeks. Insane

I figured they be slow about now. Which model did you order? Is it the sealed unit or the serviceable pump? I’m probably saying it wrong.

Got the large dryer with the basic pump. I figured the price will probably jump up soon and if I hate it I can sell it for at least what I paid. Pretty low risk

I just got an email saying all my stuff shipped out today. I don't think it's even been 4 weeks since I ordered. So if you're still thinking about ordering one, probably won't take 10 weeks

Try to get the vacuum motor with the oil free setup, I've also heard placing a small fan near your motor helps to keep it cool.

On a side note, back when those farmers were culling cattle and dumping milk, some entity with a large freeze drying operation could have preserved tons on food.

Mother in law does it. Results are pretty good, process is extremely labor intensive, and the upfront cost & maintenance is expensive.

Dried Apple cinnamon sticks are amazing, yogurt drops, and basically any fruit. I grow a ton of raspberries and it's great to have em dried for whenever.

If done right stuff is good for 20+ years. Lots of Mormons are into it for some reason

Yeah, the equipment cost upfront is one thing, I have more money than time. It’s the serious days on end of literally cooking a homemade meal, then spending ten times that amount of time to freeze dry it. I don’t know. I have a lot of other shit to do.

Think, make a pot roast. All day. Freeze dry it. Three days.

It’s almost like you need a team of people on a rotation to get this done.
