Prescription glasses if you need them. I order from zenni, prob have at least 8 extra pairs. Boots, they wear out. I wear redwings daily ( everyday under all conditions outside only ) and they only last a bit more than a year.

Funny also, redwing computer systems have been down since halloween, they need new techs.

Your body. Your physical fitness and strength is the most important prep and the most neglected by Preppers.

i disagree. i think having a network of individuals is worth more and even more overlooked than physical fitness for the prospective prepper.

a team of 3 athletic build 50 year old men would still outpace a equally intelligent perfect PT score prepper.(e, younger 300 scorin ready for war type i mean. not a 39 pushup doing 49 year old)

preppers want to be this monolith with natrual resources around them when really the solution is the reluctant one for the prepper: people. its a disservice to think otherwise.

99% of survivors in a real shtf situation will need to be mobile. There will be very few fortified locations for people to hunker in. The unhealthy and overweight people will be among the very first to die. Even within fortified locations.

Fitness is your most important prep and anymore who hasn't made that a priority in their life will likely regret it.

ok i agree with that.

ill not atempt to redefine what i meant but woud like to say i do agree.

Thats obvious niggerfaggot. Oh yeah caps only NiggerFaggot.

Then why are so many preppers fat slobs?

I dont know any, you probably watched to many tv shows.

You are totally right haha. Maybe they're just storing extra calories.

If you have a pair of boots or shoes that fit well, check eBay. I have a couple of types that fit me quite well, and I've purchased several lightly used (as in, looks like they were worn once) pairs for 1/3 to 1/4 of the new price.

eBay is also a good place for frames you like. I can't use the online optics places because they can't get my script right, but frames from online vendors are much cheaper than your eye doctor.

Not really related except for ebay. I ordered a used pendelton wool shit xl , It was as marked xl. Made in USA one. That shit was a small medium for real.

You really have to watch some of the stuff. The shoes I'm ok with because they're a particular type, brand, version, and size.

Your item may have been washed improperly causing it to shrink.

Yeah it was in good shape otherwise, hell it went for like $150 new. I had a pendleton shirt once they dont usually wear out. But I aint about to pay that for a shirt.

I know someone who finally could afford Redwings. Like you, they didn't last long. He prefers some from Bass Pro. Says they're cheaper and last longer.

I have worn and have many different brands. Redwings are by far the most comfortable. The older you get the more thats important. Im ok with the life considering the conditions. Im sure if in a factory they would last forever.

You may be right. He works for a steel frabricator, mainly welding, sometimes on large (farm etc) equipment, and was in his mid-30s when he told me that.

Also that what fits one may not fit another.

Most import 2 comfort items in life. Shoes and mattress

I prefer to squint and go barefoot

My dad used to wear Redwings every day too. Great shoes

Boots that only last a year are crap. Buy once, cry once. Try Lowa boots.

You must be a yungin, no boot last forever.

Good boots will last several years. Ive been through a lot of different brands of shit boots before i started buying better stuff and realized the price is higher out the gate, but cheaper in the long run. I put a lot of mountain miles on my boots, often with very fucking heavy packs, like heavy enough to have trouble getting into and standing up in, and Lowas hold up.

Get a pair of White's. I've had the same pair for 23 years. There's a reason they're standard issue for wildland firefighters for many agencies.

This is the type I would wear, alot like redwings, they wouldnt last any longer. https://whitesboots.com/hunt/payette/

[–] 0 pt

Yeah, those won't last for shit. Those are shoes. .

[–] 0 pt

just gonna say, there aint no way any pair of boots are gonna last 'me' 23 years, yes I have heard of whites. I also dont wear the best redwings, just the ones I have found very comfortable.

[–] 1 pt

If they last firefighters 20 years, they'll last you 20 years. Those guys break equipment in a week that should last ten years, but not those boots. The leather is more than 1/8 thick. The best thing about White's is that if you do break them you can send them back to be rebuilt for about 1/3 the price of a new pair. Get them resoled at any show shop for $50.
