I keep a bag in the car that has clothes, a sleeping system, rain gear, food/water etc... I think it is important to have something like this, especially if you live in a rural area. I change contents of this bag out based on the seasons. I'm a little overdue on doing it for cold weather, so I'm taking care of that today.

Posting here to encourage others to have a "get back home bag" as they are often called.

If anyone has one and wants to share that would be cool too.

I have a coat that I wear when it rains and keep it in the car. I should move it from the trunk to the back seat so it is more easily accessible if it rains.

That's it. That's all I need for winter where I live.

If we get winter weather where I live, we've got serious issues about to be upon us and I'm not going out. Can you imagine how bad the traffic will be if it snows in Los Angeles area? I work someplace and they sent everyone home because a thunderstorm (it was a good one too) was bearing down on the city, I told people that were leaving they were crazy to try to drive in that storm. They left anyways, and the next day they all complained about how bad it was and asked me how my drive was. The only issue I had was shit on the road and some flooded streets changed my route.
