I keep a bag in the car that has clothes, a sleeping system, rain gear, food/water etc... I think it is important to have something like this, especially if you live in a rural area. I change contents of this bag out based on the seasons. I'm a little overdue on doing it for cold weather, so I'm taking care of that today.

Posting here to encourage others to have a "get back home bag" as they are often called.

If anyone has one and wants to share that would be cool too.

Yeah I definitely take expiration dates with a grain of salt.

They say kerosene is only good for a year and I know that is BS from personally using some that was in a heater which that wasn't used for 5 seasons. Thing burned fine.

i was just reading that other day, its the oxidation that makes it go "bad" meaning it will gum up carbs and what not. carry some sea foam to clean jets

me personally i dont like to store fuel, i mean you get like 5 gallons toss some stabil in it they say its effective for two years, but i swear i had the same gallon gas can for like 3 years now 50:1 mix (it has a stabilizer in the oil) works just fine.

but i think im switching to premixed stuff in cans they sell, i just hate having old gas sitting around

also, with the 5 gallon w/ stabil, after a couple years just toss it in your car and burn it away

My riding mower accepted a 60/40 fresh and 30 year old fuel mix, but with any more than that it had detonation problems. However not fuel injected.

If you want a fuel that doesn't go bad, use propane.

alot of people dont realize you can run mixed fuel in a 4 stroke

i would still recommend if anything to to burn that shit off every couple years
