That's actually kind of frightening. He's a man who will not give up. If you end up in a fight with a person like this, you will have to kill them or completely incapacitate them. There is simply no "quit" in them, I've met people like this, I'm sure most people have.
Fuck... I just realized that most males of my generation can't properly chop wood with both of their skinny, soy-filled arms intact. You have to carefully instruct them, because otherwise they'll chop their foot. They're scared of the act- I've seen this in guys with hammering nails or using power drills and saws. They're timid and weak... and here's this man, unfortunate to lose both arms, but being able to efficiently employ life/death skills easily and efficiently.

Although this man has an iron will and is very strong, he has no fucking arms. Never made it into UFC, but he has fought some very good fighters and defeated them. There's a lot that goes into that, however; he has a nub for a left arm that has no glove on it.
If you fight him, you have an immediate psychological disadvantage: if you beat his ass, you're just a fighter who beat up a cripple. If you lose, or he puts up a good fight, then you're the guy who got beaten up by a cripple. Most fights are won before any strike is thrown. He is also extremely mentally tough, in order to overcome the constant bullying he has to deal with- unbreakable will. You must break his body, or put him into a position where the referee believes he cannot continue without being killed.

He had no way to contact any kind of outside help, and only had a little water on him. If he did nothing, he would die from thirst/exposure in about 2-3 days, in horrifying agony. But this legend said "fuck that, I'm not going out that way- I'm like Guts from Berserk, I'm a badass!"
The man took out his little pocket knife and began sawing through his arm at the elbow area. He could not cut through the bone, so he took a rock and SMASHED HIS OWN ARM TO BITS, and then continued to cut through the remaining tissue/ligaments of his arm. Eventually, he fully severed his own arm, then repelled down the mountain and called for help.
Sheer, iron, unshakable will and perseverance is what kept that man going, and it's what keeps this man who lost his arms coming up with ways to do things that you'd normally need hands for. If we could identify this trait somehow, we could take 100 men like this and they could conquer the fucking earth... and now you're probably imagining an army of 100 men holding rifles with their jaws charging into battle.
