Certainly chuckleworthy.
I'll start this off by saying that I do not consider myself to be a socialist, but find myself in general agreement with socialism.
Once you understand what socialism is, you come to realize that 95% of everybody is a socialist. If somebody were facing a serious problem, and if the state had a reasonable and efficient ability to step in and solve that problem, 95% of people would accept help under those circumstances.
As the cartoon alludes, nearly all Republicans, and RIABN, are socialists. They only think that they dislike big government.
I think that the myth of government incompetence is part of what I see as a "divide and conquer" strategy, of the sort typically used by globalists and Jews. Although I'll give Reagan credit for the fake ani-big government trumpet blasting.
What people think socialism is: spending money on public infrastructure and research and development
What is actually happening: spending money on everything but those two causes
>Once you understand what socialism is, you come to realize that 95% of everybody is a socialist. If somebody were facing a serious problem, and if the state had a reasonable and efficient ability to step in and solve that problem, 95% of people would accept help under those circumstances.
actually thinking the collective would offer effective solutions to the public's benefit and is more intelligent than the individual
Reality: state makes retarded investment in public roadway construction instead of using a newer and more efficient technique that causes the path to fall into disrepair within a few months simply because it doesn't want to take the risk and it can scam taxpayers for more money.
You just described why I'm a misanthrope.
And that's the thing, Man. As soon as I figure out somebody is a libertarian, I simply tune them out. I'm being honest.
Ex-Lolbertarian here, and I do the same thing.
I've already heard every libertarian argument, But I can no longer take them seriously.
95% of people would accept help under those circumstances.
This is the inherent problem with democracies. It doesn't matter how many people think it's a good idea or not, what matters is principles and rights. It's a no-brainer that 95% of people would want to take stuff from other people that have more than them. You can't take stuff that doesn't belong to you regardless of how many people think it should be allowed.
Pray tell, why do you like socialism?
I've listened to "left wing" people describe why they think it's a good idea, and it's always based on false/incomplete information, or a complete misunderstanding. I want to know why YOU think it's a good idea, because only by discussion and logical reasoning can we dispel the myths surrounding socialism.
This is the inherent problem with democracies.
Oh no, I'm in lock step with you on that one, Brother. I have been democraskeptic since the 90's.
>Pray tell, why do you like socialism?
That's the thing, I don't like socialism. I could cheerfully live in Pinocheist Chile. Other than having a blanket dislike for Muslims, I could probably live well enough in (non socialist) Saudi Arabia. But unless it's your goal to specifically live in a kingdom or under a military coup, socialism tends to recommend itself.
For what it's worth I'm probably a good deal less political than you are, and I have very little interest in debate. I'm not trying to cut off your main point, whatever that may be, but I'm fairly upfront about the fact that I'm probably less open minded than you think I am and I'm not shopping around for a new belief system. Facts tend not to impress me.
