The union rank and file haven't been part of the dem base for at least a decade. They'll throw some favors at the union (((bosses))) and those bosses will turn around and tell everyone to vote for dems. Also, the bosses will donate lots of mandatory union dues to the dems regardless of what the rank and file wants. I'm not anti-union, but the leadership of most unions are corrupt as hell.
