I've been there. In a meeting. Someone asks for clarification on something. And I know I read it somewhere (in my case, I have to search for a regulation, requirement, or law). So I am looking and looking and eventually I find it.

If it takes me longer than 30 seconds, I tell them, "I read the answer to your question, somewhere. Let me get back to you when I find it. I'll take down a to-do for myself."
