It's more the state of the people in the country if you ask me. Other than high gas prices, life is continuing as normal where I live. And most surrounding areas that I go to. The internet distorts your perception of things you don't see for yourself. The state of the Country is fine. It's just a very small minority of people that need to be removed and everything would be just fine.
