US could easily meet their own energy demand if Biden isn't being dumb about it. Cancelling pipeline, restricting natural gas drilling. But yea, people don't realize how much things are about to get worse. All the sanctions the west impose on Russia won't stop them, they are ready to decouple from the West (probably after they took Crimea and saw the West's sanction), this only speed it up.
