TBF Peduto should have, but cut infrastructure and transportation maintenance under the guise of austerity, then claimed he was doing so well that the city could exit austerity early even though he merely cut essential services such as road maintenance and repair and snow removal, the latter of which could prevent road damage which is what lead to this bridge collapsing. Then when the city exited austerity he didn't restore these essential services, and instead used "the budget surplus" to declare Pittsburgh a "sanctuary city" which increased population greatly which stressed the infrastructure even further.

The previous mayor Ravenstahl slunk away without even running for re-election when the nigger chief of police got caught in an embezzlement scam after some officers were found to have been extorting cash businesses such as laundromats after they shot a black teen and paralyzing him based on the most ridiculous case of mistaken identity simply because he had the same last name as a fugitive who was over 20 years older than him, taller, heavier, and had a different first name, and looked nothing like him. (Of course now he's a BLM dindu nuffin "activist" and has done nothing of worth with his life, completely denying that blacks could ever commit crimes that would warrant deadly force, and tried to ride off the Jacob Blake thing so I guess he likes rape. Seriously, this was 9 years ago and it's all he has done with his life, and he's still suckling off it from other dindu nuffin black supremacist crime deniers. His case was, of course, handled by race grifter Crump.)
