Perspective is fucked. Look at how curved the bottoms of the chairs are.

Bidens looking huge is to imply health and youth relative to the mummies they're posing with.

Wide lens. Barrel distortion. Look at the wall to the left of the frame.

And some chairs like that have a slight curve or arch between the front feet. The distortion amplified the effect.

Good point, this isn't pincushion because there isn't much distortion along the vertical axis.
