I believe that was part of the Milo theory, that all the attractive redheads were girls who are naturally of a different hair color but dye it red, thus avoiding the (supposed) genetic pitfalls associated with gingerdom.
From what I recall, the theory accounted for this by stating that men who are attracted to gingers were conditioned to do so by attractive women with dyed red hair, that if not for the media then men would always be picking redheads only out of desperation.
As a ginger fan, I find his theory interesting. Some of my lifelong pals are completely repulsed by gingers, and I know at least one ginger gal who dyes her hair to try and mask her "gingervitis", due to this sort of backlash.
...and it is a real shame that there are so many mehdiocre looking gingers out there. Which is an observation that has me interested in the theory.
