if you can still breathe through them the virus can still get you, they were invented to stop surgeons sneezing a loogie into your exposed organs, not disease prevention or they would wear them all the time in hospitals.

In addition, the vast majority of exhale escapes as jet streams at the boundaries of the face mask and very little of it travels through the mask itself. It's really a case of exhale following the path of least resistance. Two very large jet streams escapes upward toward the eyes. It is thought that viruses commonly enter the body through our eye ducts. Has anyone wondered why our noses are pointed downward and away from the eyes? Wearing a face mask is an abomination of Nature. Restricting exhale is wrong.
