Well, Trump never ran on a white nationalist platform. We all projected our own values on to him. He was an old school Democrat boomer. I don't know why we built up false expectations that he would be like Hitler. All he did was voice the correct opinion that the current socio-political climate was irrationally favorable to immigrants. We took it and ran with it and he backed out. Big deal, let's get over it. He was the best option at the time. At least he disrupted the status quo slightly.
