In the movie The Day the Earth Stood Still, in the remake at least, the alien meets with or politicians and leaves being like, yep, we are going to destroy all humans. Then someone pulls him aside and says, "How about I introduce you to a real leader. Come with me." No, it wasn't a jew or a pseudo intellectual or fake university academic, but someone actually smart who convinces the alien not to. The movie was meh but they nailed that scene.
