NFL too.

I don't hear about NHL or MLB players that make a modest salary of $2 million a season, playing for 8-10 years, ending up homeless on the street.

But you hear all about the former Heisman Award winner or former flash-in-the-pan star football or basketball player winding up penniless years after making $10 million a season.

Hmm....I wonder why that is??? /s

A big part of the problem is culture. When a garboon makes it in the nfl, he is expected to take care of his family. Momma needs a house, bro needs a house, sis needs a house, and on and on. Throw in needing an entourage, friends, associates and a stream of hangers-on. Boom! Wer be de monies? Add in a dose of ghetto mentality that does not evolve...

Yep. It's always the IRS that catches up to them. The property taxes on their Miami "shorefront crib" that they laid down $9 million for, and the penthouse in Vegas they purchased, and then the 5 or 6 properties for family members. They give money to their homies when they go to the stripclub and "make it rain" 3 nights a week. Buying stupid fucking cars that they don't know how to maintain. Not paying their notes on their jewelry. Giving money to their homeboys so they can "put down a rap album".

Ironically, this is what holds the nogs down in Africa as well. The social obligation to support others. This is why the Peace Corps. fails in Africa.
