I decided to buy one of those curved 32" OLED 4k displays. From what AI is telling me I should be able to get decent frame rates using DLSS, but I'm already itching to get a 5080 to properly push it. Idk, monitor arrives Friday. I figure I'll at least try it with the 2080S first.

Hopefully I'll like this display. I've been moving away from online FPS and RTS to single player games. I think this will be a better display than my 27" flat screen for this.

I'm still on 1080p here... When I was working and had the spare cash it ended up not being spare since on a homestead, Murphy's Law applies daily, so I couldn't ever save up enough to get one of those curvy monitors. The ones I was looking at were the Dell Ultrasharps, because they have (had? don't know if still) a reputation for being great monitors. Can't swing that amount of cash now unfortunately. We're living on savings until some recruiter picks me up again or my health issues clear up and I can get into woodworking full time. Life can suck at times.

FPS games haven't really been my jam for a bit though. Used to play a lot of Battlefield and Far Cry, which was always a blast. It's been a while since I've really wanted to play them though. Maybe I'm just convincing myself I don't really want to anymore due to circumstances, but really it does feel like there just isn't enough time to play like I would like to, like I used to.

Anyway, just felt like sharing that. Curved displays, especially the ultra wides, have appealed to me for a while since my peripheral vision seems to be pretty good. If yours is too, I imagine you'll love the curved monitor.

As far as I know Dell is still a respected monitor brand.

I'm aging out of of FPS online games. I still have my good game sense but I can't match these kids with reaction times. I'm currently gold nova 2 in CS which isn't awful but it isn't good either. Anyways I'm just getting put off by the stress it brings. Stress, maybe effort is a better word. It is more like I want games now to relax me and playing CS2 is not relaxing even if it can be fun.

I think I will enjoy it, should be more immersive.
