I just don’t see China making an attempt to take Taiwan in the near future. The price for failure is extremely high for the CCP. There are 5 nations that will immediately react and resist the attempt: 1. Taiwan (of course.) 2. Japan 3. Philippines 4. Vietnam 5. USA ( the USN is obligated by treaty to defend Japan. Any attack on Taiwan will require an attack on Japanese territory in order to have any chance to succeed.) it won’t matter if sloppy joe is a Chinese sellout, the USN will respond regardless. Edit to add: China has no allies in the pacific, they’ve pissed off just about every nation in the region. India is just itching for an excuse to take back stolen territory.
