Notice the terminal with a wire wrapped around it, how it's kind of blackened with age and oxidation? That's how i found this device while doing a troubleshooting session. Absolutely no solder connecting this very important main drive line, just wrapped around loosely.

I have to wonder how something like this got out of the factory of a company known for it's quality devices. Guess not...

Maybe Rosie the solderer had a case of the Mondays and/or was hungover, it happens. Intermittent fault might have driven some poor tech up the wall. :)

Well, interesting that - it has a meter zero issue and this line directly drives the meter...
