Not sure how you check bit sharpness - centerpoint and cutting edge are pointy, but it didn't seem to generate shavings like I remember. Was going through 4-3/4" of vintage CCA treated lumber, so maybe I should cut it some slack. Get to break out a plane tomorrow - not sure if I remember how to plug one in...

Those tools really make you realize how easy we have it today.
