As a kid, I used to collect broken machines like record players so I could take them apart and learn about how they worked. I took apart many a turntable and always found the mechanisms employed for the automatic disc changer to be quite amazing for their intricate simplicity. I still remember the smell of the lubricant grease used on 70s-era record players and the sounds they made when doing their thing. It was a simpler time with simple pleasures.
