These are from the TRF radio I purchased today. 3x UX201A, RCA branded triode, and one unbranded UX200A triode detector filled with cesium gas. The unbranded one has a "Wizard" sticker on it and was purchased from Western Auto for $5, as was one of the 201s. That's about $91 today.

It's unknown when the guy called this device quits, but it was obsolete soon after it was probably built, superhet radio designs being highly superior to the TRF set these were in.

The 1970 newspaper they were wrapped in is just as interesting, and could almost be taken from today - an article about a sharp downturn in consumer loans, an article about how federal payrolls have ballooned, and an ad for credit card fraud monitoring. Things just don't change, do they?
