I've got my grandparent's old Philco (pic8.co) radio purchased in '48 I'd guess. I'd love to get it repaired.

Looks like it was a hum-dinger in it's day. Now it only hums.

Is it a loud 60Hz (like the AC line) buzz, or just a quiet mmmmmmmmmmmmm?

I can't remember, it's been stashed away for about 50 years, I tried it maybe 30 years ago and I remember it just hummed, but I can't remember the tone. A quieter mmmmmmm IIRC. Then I stashed it away and haven't touched it since. In fact, I just now found that it was a 1948 model. I thought my grandparents listened to WWII broadcasts with it all my life. TIL they didn't.
