I used an OS back in the late 80s through early 90s that had a blue background, white text, and a distinct "Zen" boot screen. It had mouse support and relied upon a hard drive for storage, so that weeds out some truly archaic OSes.

Searching the internet hasn't ID'd anything and mostly brings up modern software, not archaic operating systems from +30 years ago.

Anyone have any ideas?

Zenith SuperSport was a 286 laptop with a bluish screen tint.

Thank you so much! It was definitely Zenith Data Systems hardware, and I strongly suspect it was running Z-DOS. Which would explain why I haven't been able to ID it previously...obscure hardware, super obscure OS-fork that barely has a footnote online.

Wasnt OS2 (en.wikipedia.org) was it?

Warp, the last version hit around the time windows 95 came out.

Probably not the one you're thinking of, but I have some old memories of an OS a coworker used to rave about called Oberon. This was back in about 1992 or 1993 but it had been around since the late 80s. I never tried it myself, but it's the only OS I can think of that sounds like what you describe.
