I have a multiband Philco from the late 1930s-1940s that my grandparents listened to WWII news in their living room. Wood case, pushbutton presets. I have not had it repaired.

That's a clean example. I like Philco products, personally. I just got done "restoring" a steampunk style philco 38-60, and I have a cute 60b version 1 that I rebuilt, added an aux jack, and recovered the speaker with modern fabric. Also, my fridge is a 1958 philco double-stack, and I have the matching stove, too. They both work well, with only minor repair over the years.
