The 6AL5 is a dual diode tube used for audio demodulation, rectification, or very low current power supplies. It consists of two individual diode sections with a shared heater.

The W variant was tested to higher vibration standards and found service in industrial or military applications. This unit was made by Sylvania, probably in Emporium, PA, and was overprinted with it’s new spec.

Hey honky, it's black history month and you better mention the nigger that invented vacuum. Leroy Peppers, a mild mannered negro janitor working at GE who used a vacuum to clean up and experimented with his Hoover to evacuate the air in mason jars. Some egghead whitey saw him and stole his idea.
