It's somewhat upsetting that these are considered "old" now.

I guess they are kind of ancient now by computer standards, but it just doesn't seem all that long ago.

Yeah, they were legit computers made to run for 10 years straight. The place I worked at had a sparc2 that had been on for 7 years at that point for HP open view. We had Sunfire servers with 8-16 cpu cards and the 6 foot tall Sun tape silos. All Sun shop until the fateful day when they decided they needed middle manager types and then we had two windows 9x boxes with idiots sending out word Documents and wondering why nobody was reading them. Went downhill from there fast.

Yeah, everything started going completely to hell at some point there, I forget the year now. Our pointy haired boss types decided that we needed all new HPUX servers, partly to support stupid oracle crap... and then oracle bought Sun [and promptly murdered it]. I guess that still beats stupid windows nonsense! Sort of.
