Punch tape writer I think. Too small to be a card writer.

Yes, it’s a paper tape punch in a teletype chassis.

Yeah likely had some mount for putting plastic reels to wind up the paper tape as it was created.

Someone took it home, it passed us on the way out.

I used to use a cnc machine running off of DOS adapted in electrically to a broken paper tape machine and it used a terminal to type into norton commander to edit the x,y parameters. Man that she was old, we even had an old optical plotter. This was around 10 years ago and our worst problem was finding hard drives small enough for the DOS to install on. This was before linux had virtual box and all that shit. The guy was really smart and used linux to play chess online, super nerd but smart as all fuck.

But can it play Crysis?

Very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very slowly.

I'm me, of course. I'm in the process of getting the rest of the pictures ready for upload.

Have you ever visited the National Cash Register display at the Carillon Historical Park in Dayton? I think you'd enjoy that.

It's all mechanical, but kind of interesting how these work.

No. Maybe next time I head over to the surplus joints, I will make that a stop.

It's a neat place. They have a lot more there than just that, bunch of Wright brothers stuff too.

I actually used one of those.

Damn. There was a star Trek game someone programmed on it and it made the teletype tell you where the enterprise was in relation to the Klingon ship and if your shot had hit or missed. All in short phrases of course.
