RAM prices continue to drop. The last budget AMD Ryzen 3 2200G build we made used a 16-GB dual channel kit of DDR4-3000, which costs about $90 now. That's down about $40 from just two months ago. With cheap NVMe SSD's you can make a hulluva PC for about $400, including an 80+ 450 watt PS.

I paid $400 for 4 megabytes in 1990. Zip static column 1x4. That was a steal of a deal at the time. The last box I built I got 16gig for around 100.
