The Mrs. has a couple friends in nursing. Universally, its a meat-grinder job unless you get on a surgical team with an 8 to 5 schedule. Then after you put in 25 or 30 years, you're subjected to age discrimination - because nurses are an expense whose wages can't be directly billed. Get a new bean counter, and the hospital looks to cut overhead, and most nurses are overhead. Going the physicians assistant route is the way out.

So yeah - the hospital and Amazon career paths are similar once you adjust for the wage differential. Everything has turned to garbage.
