At about 12:30 a.m. that morning, officers responded to the area of Woodman Drive overpass over state Route 35 for a report of a fight, according to an incident report from the Riverside Police Department. When officers arrived, they saw a man standing outside his vehicle with blood on his shorts. While the man received medical treatment, officers determined that his finger had been bitten off. The man told police that a second person involved in the fight had fled the scene. Officers later located part of the man’s finger underneath his parked vehicle.
