Banks usually have a policy to comply with a robber no matter how ridiculous it may seem. A family member of mine worked for US Bank and was robbed. The guy was black and well dressed but only handed a note saying to give him money and nothing else. I learned later using an actual weapon during a robbery, or even hinting that you have a weapon, is a good way to increase your fed charges.
