It's better to have a boss with a traditional view of what makes a worker productive as opposed to one who buys in fully to the "happy worker is a productive worker" school of thought. the former at least won't seek to police your unspoken thoughts as long as you're productive and keep your head down, while the latter would have all the same demands and expectations but with the addition of the unrealistic demand of having a positive internal outlook.
