Yeah, I was pretty lucky having a lot more freedom than others. I had friends who weren't allowed to play in the front yard without supervision, I had friends who weren't allowed to go to sleepovers, I had friends who had to text their parents once an hour in high school. My generation had the shittiest parents that ever existed. I remember how frustrated I got when we'd play sports in elementary and not keep score. WTF!? That's a huge part of the point. Yes it feel really bad to lose; so bad that you do your best not to feel that way again.
