Silent isn't based. Silent is very cringe. The silent generation gave us a lot of the bullshit we are dealing with today. Here's a few of their gems: Voting Rights Act, Civil Rights Act of 1964, and Johnson's Great Society bullshit. They also did Clean Water and Air Acts, but we know how that's worked out... Oh, they had their version of No Child Left Behind as well. I haven't even gotten to 1965's immigration act...
