clock speed is a big difference for price, you can get some decent 2x32gb at 6k for less than 440 right now
for less than 440 right now
lol What a bargain!

It happened in 92 or 93, I ran to every Best Buy in town and bought all the stock they had. I had to fulfill an order of 100 machines for a school sale. I can’t remember if they were 256k or 1meg that’s so long ago!!
If it helps, most new PCs in 92 has 2 megs of RAM. When Syndicate was released in 1993, people had to upgrade to 4 megs of RAM to be able to play it.
Ok then it was 4x256 been so long ago.
Kinda wish I'd gotten my rig up to 64 prior to this. 32 is fine for a few years, but who knows if ram will EVER come down. GPUs never recovered after the mining rush
It will. It's currently inflated by the AI bubble.
Damn, there went my goal of going from 96GB to 128Gb. Its nice for testing various openstack configs and getting things to run properly.
I dont REALLY NEED it, it would just let me run another VM or 2, I can power up my old server and have another 64GB if I really need more VMs.
