The "higher" boss is a higher cast than your boss. Your boss is acting more reasonable, maybe he's not looking at it the same way.
The big boss though? Piece of shit that gauges their worth over how many others that are perceived "higher cast" (most of them consider White people to be at the top of the cast system). You are also a woman so that is another part of it. They still consider women property for the most part....

I never thought about it as a caste thing, since that's so foreign, but it makes sense. He loves bragging about all the property he owns, all the patents he gets money for, etc.
