Talk to a landlord in a college town sometime - one that focuses on off campus student housing. Hands down, they'll say they prefer renting to boys/men over girls/women. Whereas the boys are just hard on things and tend to have clumsy breakage, girls tend to leave places in more filthy conditions - and it accelerates from there if there's a malicious component.
