I'm glad for every hardship I have ever been through, if it wasn't for all of those lessons, and building strength from going through shit, I might have been weak and succumbed to getting the Vax. I believe that overcoming challenges in our formative years is what sets us up for success in our adult years. I always remember this one guy from cooking class in grade 7 (we didn't choose it, everyone had to cycle through all such classes that year). Me and another fairly normal guy we paired with this unknown loser of a guy. His hair was always messy, his clothes look like they were fished out of a discount bin, and later learned that his dad had left him and his mom. The first day of that class, the teacher told us we're going to make grilled cheese sandwiches. That weird kid turned on the element, put a pan on and threw some cheese directly onto the pan. Me and the other normal guy got loud and start asking "what the hell are you doing"? His answer "grilling the cheese". The teacher came over, told that guy to wash the pan and took us two aside and said "sorry about that, I get the feeling that his mom does everything for him, so he never learned how to do anything, please watch out for him as if he were a little kid".

These days most kids are like that kid and I think it is because the parents raising them never try and teach their kids stuff all the time. They fully fail to get that a good parent teachers their kids how to do everything that the parents can do, plus some more things that the kid will be able to do that the parent can't.

While it would be nice to have been born into great wealth, and managed to keep it throughout life, having gone through shit means we know how to get back up after being knocked down, and keep going j til we get what we want. The kids born into wealth never have to try, or struggle, so if something threatened their way of life, they don't know how to face it head on.

It can never be faked. It is like eating right and taking care of yourself, everyone can see that you do.
