Vanilla "flavored" brandy... Can't be good. I'll post a homemade egg nog recipe later this year. Calls for a littany of boozes - quite lively shit.
Just say no to nig-nog.
I usually use Alton Brown's recipe, but we leave out the booze because kids.
I usually just add a splash of brandy to it when I make it now, and let others dose it how they like before drinking. It seems to help the ingredients blend better, and adds a touch of preservative qualities to it. But yes - no booze for the kiddos. Sadly its been a few years since any of ours were that young.
Make sure to ping me when you do that, I want to make my first eggnog this year.
That brandy, while cheap, is actually really good and mixes well with regular egg nog and chocolate milk (separately). (It's made locally here and I've been to the winery / distillery and they do a good job). I've tried a number of different boozes and this seems to work well. To each their own. Sadly I have a massive sweet tooth.
I love some eggnog and some brandy. Just not a fan of all the ”flavored" crap that is being manufactured. I find you can usually get a better product by blending your own ingredients - in this instance perhaps a decent vanilla extract. And the liquor industry generally does NOT have to disclose additives/adulterants in their products. For instance, Fireball "Whiskey" contains polyethylene glycol - an additive that prevents it's legal sale in Europe.
Many such products easily fall within the "goyslop" category. But yes - to each their own. Keep an eye out for my eggnog recipe though - good shit even without the littany of booze.
