DeWalt == Stanley Black and Decker Milwaukee and Ryobi == Techtronic Industries Makita == Makita

All these brands are shadows of their former selves. Makita is the closest thing to pure blood, but not by much these days. The sorting hat lies.

From what I have read and heard, Milwaukee went from being middle of the pack to top of the line simply because Dewalt and Makita both started making everything in China. 30 year old Makita is not today's Makita. I'd take the 30 year old Makita over anything being made today.

I think 99% of the brands today are all sold to jewish conglomerates and they are made in the same Chinese factories from the same Chinese raw inputs and they all get a different color housing but are essentially the same product.

Isn't most of Milwaukee's stuff also made in China or Taiwan these days?

Once you invest in batteries you're stuck. I have a dozen dewalt batteries from 2-6ah so not smart to switch.

The batteries are $$$, I'm locked into Dewalt myself.

The new Chinese lithium batteries off of Amazon seem to be working as these official dewalt 20v max batteries seem to have a shelf life rather than a charging cycle life.

Miscegenation (pic8.co) I just went out for a smoke and caught these two in the garage.

I'm all in on the Makita tool lineup. I've been using them for years. I have noticed that their quality is slipping and I also notice that a lot of their stuff is being made in china now. I don't understand why a jap company is making their shit in china. It's wrecking the company

No wonder I have only been using Ryobi tools. I need to make a few calls.

I'm getting a Ryobi vacuum kit so I can vacuum my car more efficiently for the simple reason it fits my budget better than the Milwaukee offering. I've got Packout boxes because they felt the best. I've got a Craftsman drill from 20 years ago, Bosch palm router, jigsaw and orbital sander and a Skilsaw circular saw. I've got a cheap Black & Decker cordless drill around my desk someplace...I won't do server room projects without it.

I can't justify buying a kit like those though. I'm getting the Ryobi vacuum kit for the simple reason I hate taking my vacuum outside to my car and then screwing around with extension cords. $200ish for something I'm going to use 2x a month and the time it saves me from setup and tear down is worth it to me. Since I sleep in my car at lunch, I can get a fan for $50ish and oh no...just kidding, I'll switch if I need/want too.

Switching because you found through experience something is better is part of being an adult.

Hey what about my sweet Bosch tools?

I have tools from all those brands, but I'm only embarrassed by the Ryobi ones. They work, I guess... I have a Ryobi circular saw that was cheaper than buying the blade separately, and other than popping the breaker 20% of the time, it works!

Milwaukee used to be good but now its made by the PRC it says so right on the tool. What about rigid? better than ryobi and not as expensive as the other 3.

Used to be Makita but I've been replacing all the old NiCd stuff and Dewalt's been great so I think that's my team now. The corded stuff I'm keeping forever, though.

Dewalt batteries are made by Ryobi. No joke.

Dewalt all day. The only American company of the brands listed. Blah blah, (((Stanley Black))) & Decker, blah blah.
