We had these pants called Toughskins that came in rusty red, burnt orange, and lime green which were made from a weave of kevlar and 200 grit denim purpose built for adolescent adventure.
They felt like shit when you first wore them but you couldn't damage them short of an acetylene torch or angle grinder.
Yup, I remember those! Fugly colors! Lmao
I would have been in the market for them in the '60s, but I don't think they existed yet. I know kevlar didn't. We did have tarpaulin... but no one was making clothes from it.
The move with Toughskins was to run and drop into a double knee power slide.
