If that were the case, the cops wouldn’t be arresting them.

They get arrested in order to demonstrate that going against israel will result in goy punishment. It has a chilling effect on further support of palestine on normies. They won't protest if they see enough people arrested.

Is the suggestion here that any peaceful protestors being arrested for their opposition to israel are being arrested as a false flag because they’re actually secretly pro-israel. Further, all of this is being done to show those who aren’t protesting israel in public that they shouldn’t do what they’re already not doing?

Is that what is purported to have happened on January 6, too?

Because here’s how I see it:

People genuinely oppose israel (or any government evil) for a variety of reasons, some stupid, some irrational, some valid and wise. A selection of these agitate to the point of organizing protests.

If the state opposes the protests, they have two ways of functioning.

First, if the protests are unpopular enough, they’ll simply arrest the protestors without provocation. This frequently happens with anti-abortion protestors who simply pray outside of clinics.

Second is the implementation of agent provocateurs. These are either commissioned, duped, or are themselves government officials who initiate violence for the sake of undermining the movement, thereby making it unpopular and setting the conversation to the topic of the violence, rather than the message of those protesting. This was often the case for Ron Paul supporters and, most obviously, January 6, as jackboots and pantifa infiltrated and engaged in destructive actions.

We have seen both phases of this, so far. The conservatard commentators have been angry that their favorite nation has been publicly denounced, so they fully “back the blue” as these “anti-American” (actually anti-israel) protestors are arrested and kicked off of the jew-run campuses. Now, pantifa has joined the party to help bring more average people into opposition against the protests by engaging in destruction and violence - their stock and trade, and they’re likely reaping fat paydays for it.

To be clear, this was not the case with BLM in 2020. The government supported those protests and cops only reluctantly arrested rioters long after the damage was done, and rarely jailed them for longer than a few days.

wall of text

I think it's simpler than that. Stupid virtue signaling liberals stepped up to protest because they want to be on the side of a marginalized group, blah blah blah. Those useful idiots get arrested to negatively reinforce the idea that israel should be considered bad guys. Arrest them and the other normies will fall in line. No need to setup a full FF if you have useful idiots who will do the job that would normally require agent provocateurs.

I think you spelled out the scenario very clearly for why and how the protests are astroturfed. It can work in both methods, natural protestors are arrested and the agitators are allowed to run free. Look at the different reactions on the different campuses. Columbia allowed to hold people hostage. Florida had riot police.

In any case, I don't think the paid provocateurs or their handlers care if they get arrested. Meaning using arrests by itself as a litmus test doesn't help distinguish things.

The outcome for both the scenarios you spelled out result in greater support for pro-israel and less support for anti-israel.
