I remember lots of 1950's cars in 1980. Oh wait, no I didn't. Our $85,000 house we bought in 1980 at 18% interest was a pretty decent one, but not exactly 20k.
Now the 1500 Sq ft we bought in 72 was 29K, had a $90 / month house payment which was a struggle to make payments when you are making 1.70/hr.

I get a kick out of the $20 for groceries. I remember the bill being $300 - $400 for a cart full for my family of 4 for maybe two weeks, probably less.
